Description

A decadent dessert featuring gooey peanut butter bars with chocolate peanut butter cups.


Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 oz peanut butter cups, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until combined; press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth; add the remaining egg, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar, mixing until creamy.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake layer in the pan.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped peanut butter cups over the top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the edges are golden and the center is gooey.
  7. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

These bars are best served chilled and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
