Description

These pecan pie bars are sweet, gooey, and irresistible, featuring a buttery crust and a rich pecan filling.


Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • Filling:
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. For the crust: In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Bake crust for 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
  4. For the filling: In a large bowl, beat eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in pecans.
  5. Pour filling over baked crust and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until set. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For a nuttier flavor, toast the pecans before adding.
