Scale

For the Crust:
- 1 (2 pound) London Broil (top round steak)
 - 1/4 cup soy sauce
 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
 - 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
 - 1 teaspoon black pepper
 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
 - 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
 - 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
 - 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper. Place the London Broil in a large resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, turning occasionally.
 - About 30 minutes before cooking, remove the steak from the refrigerator to bring it to room temperature. Preheat your broiler on high and position an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
 - While the broiler heats, make the herb butter. In a bowl, combine the softened butter, parsley, chives, thyme, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until well combined. Form into a log on a piece of plastic wrap, roll up, and twist the ends. Place in the refrigerator to firm up.
 - Remove the steak from the marinade and pat it very dry with paper towels. Place the steak on a broiler pan or a wire rack set inside a baking sheet. Broil for 6-7 minutes on the first side.
 - Carefully flip the steak and broil for another 5-7 minutes for medium-rare (internal temperature of 135°F), or until desired doneness is reached. Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes.
 - Slice the steak very thinly against the grain. Serve immediately with a slice of the chilled herb butter melting on top.
