Description

A tropical cake combining pineapple and orange for a heavenly dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • For the frosting: 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt alternately with orange juice.
  5. Fold in the crushed pineapple.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.
  8. For the frosting: Mix powdered sugar and orange zest, then spread over the cooled cake.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Garnish with fresh orange slices for extra flavor.
