Description

A simple, budget-friendly casserole featuring layers of ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for a comforting family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat; drain excess fat.
  3. Layer sliced potatoes in the bottom of a greased casserole dish.
  4. Add the browned ground beef on top of the potatoes.
  5. Spread the chopped onion over the beef layer.
  6. Pour the cream of mushroom soup evenly over the layers.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Cover and bake for 45 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  9. Remove cover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

For a healthier twist, use lean ground beef and low-sodium soup. This casserole can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking.
