Description

A decadent dessert combining red velvet cake and creamy cheesecake in brownie form.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix sugar and melted butter until combined. Add eggs, one at a time, then stir in red food coloring and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, then dollop the cheesecake mixture on top and swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before cutting.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
