- For the frosting: 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the red food coloring and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking soda.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before frosting.
- For the frosting: Beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth, then spread over the cooled bars.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For a richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder.
