Description

A simple side dish featuring roasted green beans and sweet caramelized onions for a flavorful twist.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425Β°F (220Β°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the green beans with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread the green beans on a baking sheet.
  4. In a skillet, heat the remaining olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Add the garlic to the onions and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Remove the green beans from the oven after 15 minutes and toss with the caramelized onions.
  7. Return to the oven and roast for an additional 5-10 minutes until beans are tender.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of balsamic vinegar before serving.
