Description

Delicious roll-ups filled with sausage and dipped in egg mixture for a fun breakfast treat.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of white bread, crusts removed
  • 8 breakfast sausage links, cooked
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Butter for frying

Instructions

  1. Flatten the bread slices with a rolling pin.
  2. Place a cooked sausage link on each flattened bread slice and roll it up tightly.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract.
  4. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides.
  5. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat and fry the roll-ups until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes

These are best served fresh and hot. You can use turkey sausage for a lighter version.
