Description
An easy and flavorful sheet pan chicken shawarma sandwich featuring melted Havarti cheese, wrapped in warm pita with fresh veggies and spices.

- 1.5 pounds chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices Havarti cheese
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup sliced onions
- 1 cup sliced bell peppers
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425Β°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Toss chicken thighs in the spice mixture and arrange on the sheet pan.
- Add sliced onions and bell peppers to the pan around the chicken.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Remove from oven and top chicken with Havarti cheese slices; let melt for 2 minutes.
- Assemble sandwiches by placing chicken and veggies in pita breads, then add lettuce and tzatziki sauce.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes before baking. Serve with a side of fries or salad.
