  • Author: Chef Lalybeth
  • Total Time: 6 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 1x

Description

An easy, extra cheesy slow cooker version of baked ziti that combines pasta, sauce, and cheese for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ziti pasta, uncooked
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the ground Italian sausage, onion, and garlic over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  2. In the slow cooker, layer half of the uncooked ziti pasta, half of the marinara sauce, half of the sausage mixture, and half of the cheeses.
  3. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  4. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper on top.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until pasta is tender and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Stir gently before serving to combine everything.

Notes

For extra cheesiness, add more mozzarella on top during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Ensure the slow cooker is at least half full for even cooking.
