Description

A hearty and flavorful take on classic sloppy joes with steakhouse-inspired seasonings and toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon steak sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Optional toppings: cheese, lettuce, tomato

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  2. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, and mustard; simmer for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Spoon the mixture onto hamburger buns and add optional toppings.

Notes

For a juicier version, use 80/20 ground beef and let the mixture rest for 5 minutes before serving.
