Description

Delicious heart-shaped danishes filled with cream cheese and fresh strawberries, perfect for a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each heart.
  5. Top with a teaspoon of strawberry jam and sliced strawberries.
  6. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create a border, then brush with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.

These danishes are best served fresh and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
