Description

Delicious stuffed Cornish game hens filled with a savory bread stuffing, perfect for a festive meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 whole Cornish game hens
  • 1 cup bread stuffing mix
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and celery, and cook until softened.
  3. In a bowl, combine the cooked vegetables with the stuffing mix and sage. Mix well.
  4. Season the hens inside and out with salt and pepper. Stuff the cavity of each hen with the stuffing mixture.
  5. Place the hens in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the juices run clear.
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a crispier skin, baste the hens with melted butter halfway through cooking. Pairs well with roasted vegetables.
