Thai Basil Beef Rolls

Description

A flavorful Thai-inspired dish featuring stir-fried beef with basil, wrapped in fresh rolls.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 8 rice paper wrappers
  • Lettuce leaves for wrapping

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a wok over high heat.
  2. Add garlic and shallots, stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in bell pepper, soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and chili flakes.
  5. Add Thai basil leaves and cook until wilted.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  7. Dip rice paper wrappers in warm water to soften.
  8. Place lettuce, beef mixture, and other fillings in the center of each wrapper.
  9. Roll tightly and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier version, increase the chili flakes. Serve with a side of dipping sauce.
