- 1 lb ground chicken
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 Thai chili peppers, finely chopped (adjust for spice level)
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, packed
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup jasmine rice, cooked for serving
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and Thai chili peppers, stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Stir in sliced red bell pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Stir well to coat the chicken and vegetables.
- Toss in fresh basil leaves and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the basil wilts.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot over cooked jasmine rice.
Notes
For extra heat, leave the chili seeds in. Basil can be substituted with holy basil if available. Adjust sauces based on saltiness preferences. This dish is best served immediately.
