Description
A hearty and comforting casserole that combines the best flavors of a juicy cheeseburger and a pepperoni pizza into one delicious, family-friendly dish.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (24 oz) jar of your favorite marinara sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 (16 oz) package rotini pasta, cooked al dente
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 30–40 slices of pepperoni
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with the diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess grease. Add the minced garlic and cook for one more minute.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and let it cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and gently fold in the cooked pasta until everything is well combined.
- Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer. Top evenly with the shredded mozzarella cheese. Arrange the pepperoni slices in a single layer over the cheese. Finally, sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and just starting to brown. Let it stand for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
