An incredibly moist and rich chocolate cake, topped with a silky caramel drizzle and decadent chocolate ganache for the ultimate dessert experience.

For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup strong black coffee, cooled
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup store-bought caramel sauce
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed with a mixer for 2 minutes until smooth.
- Pour batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- For the ganache, heat heavy cream until just simmering. Pour over chocolate chips in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes, then whisk until smooth.
- Place one cake layer on a plate. Spread a thin layer of caramel sauce. Top with the second layer.
- Pour chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. Drizzle with the remaining caramel sauce.
