- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 large onion, sliced
- Secret Sauce Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 slices rye bread
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 2 patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side.
- In another pan, melt butter and cook onions until caramelized.
- Prepare the secret sauce by mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
- Assemble the patty melt: Place a patty on a slice of rye bread, top with onions, secret sauce, and Swiss cheese, then add another slice of bread.
- Grill the sandwich in the skillet until bread is toasted and cheese is melted.
Notes
