Description

A dreamy and creamy homemade treat made with vanilla custard layers.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Graham crackers for base

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat milk and cream over medium heat until simmering.
  2. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Layer graham crackers in a baking dish and pour the custard over them.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Ensure custard is fully cooled before layering for best results.
