  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, warmed
  • For the filling: 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup vegan cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Dissolve yeast in warm almond milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add yeast mixture and softened vegan butter to the dry ingredients; knead until a dough forms.
  4. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  6. Roll out dough into a rectangle and spread the cream cheese mixture and strawberries in the center.
  7. Fold the sides over the filling to form a danish shape.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. While cooling, prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, almond milk, and vanilla.
  10. Drizzle glaze over the cooled danish and serve.
