White German Chocolate Cake with a Cheesecake Center

Description

A decadent white chocolate version of the classic German chocolate cake with a creamy cheesecake center.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for cheesecake
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in white chocolate chips.
  4. Gradually add flour and mix until just combined.
  5. For the cheesecake center, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Pour half the batter into pans, add cheesecake mixture, then top with remaining batter.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely before frosting.
