Description

These Baked Italian Sub Sandwiches are a delicious twist on a classic, featuring layers of Italian meats, cheeses, and seasonings, baked to golden perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of Italian bread
  • 1/2 pound sliced ham
  • 1/2 pound sliced salami
  • 1/2 pound sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced banana peppers
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  2. Slice the Italian bread lengthwise and hollow out the center if desired.
  3. Layer the ham, salami, and pepperoni on the bottom half of the bread.
  4. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese, banana peppers, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Drizzle with Italian dressing and cover with the top half of the bread.
  6. Wrap the sandwich in foil and bake for 15-20 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted.
  7. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

For a spicier version, add more banana peppers or red pepper flakes.
