Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggnog, vanilla, egg yolks, and water.
  5. Gradually stir in the sifted ingredients until well blended.
  6. Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls onto parchment-lined cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden around the edges.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
