Brie & Blackberry Jam Grilled Cheese

Description

A sweet and savory twist on classic grilled cheese, featuring creamy brie and tart blackberry jam sandwiched between crispy, buttery bread.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices sourdough bread (1/2 inch thick)
  • 4 ounces Brie cheese, rind removed and sliced
  • 1/4 cup blackberry jam
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. 1. Spread 1/2 tablespoon of butter on one side of each bread slice.
  2. 2. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean work surface. Spread 1 tablespoon of blackberry jam on each slice.
  3. 3. Arrange half of the Brie slices on top of the jam on each slice.
  4. 4. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
  5. 5. Heat a large nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. 6. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then cut in half and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt or a few fresh blackberries before closing the sandwich. You can also substitute raspberry jam or fig preserves.
