Ingredients

- 1 whole chicken (about 4–5 pounds)
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup onion, diced
- 8 cups bread cubes
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add celery and onion, cooking until softened.
- In a large bowl, combine bread cubes with the celery and onion mixture. Pour in chicken broth and mix well; season with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the chicken cavity with the dressing mixture and place any extra in a baking dish.
- Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for about 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165Β°F (74Β°C).
- Let rest for 10 minutes before carving and serving.
Notes
For a moist dressing, add more broth if needed. This recipe pairs well with cranberry sauce.
