  • Author: Chef Lalybeth
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 6 1x

Description

These cranberry turkey stuffing balls are the perfect holiday appetizer or side dish. Juicy ground turkey, savory stuffing mix, and tart dried cranberries are rolled into bite-sized balls, baked until golden, and glazed with a sweet-tangy cranberry sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 (6 oz) box turkey or chicken stuffing mix
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the glaze:
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, stuffing mix, dried cranberries, 1/2 cup cranberry sauce, eggs, sage, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1.5-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. In a small saucepan, make the glaze by combining 1/2 cup cranberry sauce, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar. Heat over low, stirring occasionally, until smooth and bubbly.
  5. Brush the tops of the stuffing balls with the cranberry glaze.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the balls are golden brown and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reads 165°F.
  7. Brush the baked stuffing balls with additional glaze before serving. Serve warm.

Notes

Make sure to use a dry stuffing mix with its seasoning packet; if using unseasoned bread cubes, add 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning. Ground chicken or pork can substitute for turkey. Uncooked stuffing balls can be frozen for up to 2 months; bake from frozen, adding 5–10 minutes to the cook time.
