- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 packet (0.7 oz) Italian dressing mix
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pasta or rice for serving
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, Italian dressing mix, chicken broth, and white wine if using.
- Pour the mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
- Add the sliced mushrooms on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until chicken is cooked through.
- Shred the chicken with forks and stir everything together.
- Serve over cooked pasta or rice.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, add a cornstarch slurry at the end. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
