Description

A simple and delicious pasta dish featuring tender chicken and melted mozzarella in a flavorful sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 2 boneless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add the sliced chicken breasts to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and heat until warmed.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top and cover the skillet to melt the cheese, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
