- 8 oz penne pasta
- 2 boneless chicken breasts, sliced
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add the sliced chicken breasts to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and heat until warmed.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top and cover the skillet to melt the cheese, about 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
