- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add warm water to the flour mixture and knead until a soft dough forms.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
- Roll out each ball into a flat circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- Fry each bread one at a time until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure the oil is hot enough to prevent the bread from absorbing too much oil. Serve with honey or as a base for Indian tacos.
