Description

A rich and gooey chocolate pecan cake that’s incredibly easy to prepare and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and stir in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the cake to cool before cutting and serving.

Notes

For a gooier texture, do not overbake; the center should still be slightly soft when removed from the oven. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
