  • Author: Chef Lalybeth
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings (about 16 crostini) 1x

Description

A delightful appetizer combining creamy brie, sweet strawberry jam, spicy hot honey, crunchy walnuts, and fresh thyme on crispy toasted crostini. Perfect for entertaining or a special treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into small wedges or slices
  • 1/3 cup rich strawberry jam
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (or regular honey with a pinch of chili flakes)
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Bake for 5-7 minutes until golden and crisp.
  2. Remove crostini from oven and top each with a piece of brie. Return to oven for 2-3 minutes until brie is just softened.
  3. Spread a small amount of strawberry jam over each crostini, then drizzle with hot honey. Sprinkle with toasted walnuts and fresh thyme leaves.
  4. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

For a milder version, use regular honey instead of hot honey. To toast walnuts, place them in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently. Adjust jam and honey quantities to taste.
