Description

A delicious sweet and spicy jam combining fresh strawberries with jalapeños for a unique flavor.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon pectin for thicker jam

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, jalapeño, sugar, and lemon juice.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the jam thickens and reaches the desired consistency.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before transferring to sterilized jars.
  5. Seal the jars and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Be careful when handling jalapeños; wear gloves to avoid skin irritation. Adjust spiciness by removing seeds from the jalapeño.
