Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons rose water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the fresh raspberries, rose water, and chocolate chips.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.

Notes

For a stronger rose flavor, increase rose water to 3 tablespoons; store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
